Our road was closed today but all in a good cause... to host IRONMAN! If you haven't heard of this gruelling event and missed out this time then don't worry there's always next year! The race starts at Pennington flash, Leigh with a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile cycle ride, yup that's no typo, 112 miles around our very steep countryside, Rivington and Belmont. Next up is a marathon 26.2 miles... right passed our house and finishing in Bolton town centre ONLY around 8.5 hours later, that is if you are a world-class professional! - despite the obvious pain so many of you courageous people had a smile for us...WOW truly amazing!! You don't have to be a Boltonian to enter, but it helps!
